One and Many is a 12 x 12 mixed media work on wood combining collage, gestural pen, and hand-painted florals. Overlapping female faces emerge as hair transforms into vines and blossoms. An open mouth breaks composure. It refuses containment.
Created in response to the theme of becoming and belonging, the work examines the pressure to conform while holding onto self-definition. The layered faces register adaptation. Repetition echoes expectation.
The surface carries many roles, yet identity persists. It branches, tangles, and grows through constraint rather than beneath it.

I’m honored to announce that One and Many will be showcased in San Antonio Spring 2026. The exhibit is poised to spark meaningful conversations and connections!
“Becoming and Belonging” is a juried visual arts exhibition exploring the evolving identities of individuals and communities within society and history. It considers the tensions and harmonies between selfhood and society, migration and rootedness, memory and transformation.
